I was leaning towards a Honda 3 wheeler for this project, but was open to others manufactures as well. It had to be chain drive, it had to be full size, it had to have parts available and it had to be cheap. I am not afraid of engine repairs, but for this project I wanted to focus on the problems associated with redesigning something with 3 wheels into something with 2 wheels, so engine or drive train issues was something I wanted to avoid. Given those constraints, I had my work cut out finding the right starting point.
What I finally chose was this '85 Suzuki ALT 125. It ticked all the boxes. I don't have any experience with Suzuki products, but I had no reason to be concerned. Money exchanged hands and the game was on.
